This section on Celebrating our Forebears offers support and encouragement to Orthodox women today to fulfill their spiritual calling in every way possible, by remembering some of the many role models of Orthodox women who have gone before us. Historically their ministries have included virtually every are of life the Church has to offer: teaching, preaching, pastoral work, and liturgical functions. If women had such a diversity of active ministries in past times, when women's societal roles were limited, what might we do in the Church of Christ in the twenty-first century?!
